    Im poor fed up of this awful service tbh. I cant play online what so ever

    I got a letter from eircom before regarding the exchange

    "The speed available to the end user attached to an exchange is dictated by the backhaul capacity from the exchange into the wider eircom trunk network. Any exchange with less than 24mb backhaul can only offer 3mb and below. This is the case with Golden which has a 16meg backhaul capacity.

    Therefore it would not be feasible for eircom to offer the higher speed.

    The situation will of course change as eircom upgrades its network backhaul capacity which is being done on a phased basis driven by capacity demands."


    Has anything changed? I certainly have noticed broadband in Golden getting worse and worse since day one, which means the exchange isnt handling all the traffic

    Hi Headshot,

    I appreciate the speeds you outlined can very frustrating at times. However we have escalated your case a number of times and tried to see if we could improve the ping / noise margin.

    However due to a number of factors including personal set up / congestion within the Golden exchange. We have not been able to resolve this issue to your satisfaction

    However as we advised previously there is no indication available as yet as to if or when your exchange may be NGB enabled.
