Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,
Am going to buy an iPad over the coming days for my holidays. I was pretty set on getting the iPad3 16GB but I'm not too sure.

Any advice on which to get? They are similar prices, but I'm wondering is the smaller storage worth the tech advancement in the iPad3?

Depends what you use the iPad for.

I don't keep anything of note on the iPad so space isn't an issue for me. It's used primarily for surfing and streaming. Hence i'd buy the 3. Also a movie compressed for iPad is only ~600MB so you'll get a fair few on even on the 16GB.

Although if you stored lots of movies and music on it you might need bigger space.

Personally, I'd go for the iPad 3 - if only for the screen and nothing else. In fact, even it was only 8GB then I'd still go for it as it's that good.

If anyone tells you otherwise then just give their guide dog a friendly pat on the head and wander off quietly

Agree it depends on what you want to use the iPad for. If you HAVE to have loads of space then that's your decision made for you.

If you don't, well go and hold an iPad 3 and that should do the trick.

I better get a new guide dog then :).

I honestly don't think the new screen is better than double the memory iPad 2 but that depends on what you'll be doing with it.

All in all, you won't be disappointed in either option. Performance wise they are very similar.

i have both ipad 2 and ipad 3. the new ipad's screen is so much worth it - i dont see myself going for storage over that screen anymore.

Thanks for the information guys! Will be buying the iPad3 later today :)

I'm not 100% convinced I actually need one but I'm dropping my laptop into PC World to repair a few minor things while I'm gone on 2 weeks hols and I'll need something new to play with!

I don't know if there is a gap in my needs that my laptop or iPhone cannot fill. If I find it's not used much, I'll sell it in September to fund the iPhone 5.

    Thanks all!

PC World? Wouldn't let those useless wasters at any of my hardware! Whats wrong with it? Do you know anyone tech related who could look at it?

Might be worth remembering that you can tether your internet (if your phone company supports it) from iPhone to the iPad. Even better is that you can use low power bluetooth between ipad and iphone instead of power sapping wifi.
(If you don't know what tethering is please google it before asking.)

It works fine but there's a mouse button not working properly, the mic jack is loose and there are a few cracks on the casing. I have 3 years care with them so may as well get it sorted while I'm away.

I don't think Vodafone supports tethering using my bundle :(

As long as you're not paying for it then how bad. Still wouldn't go near the <BLEEP>ers.

I hate this whole 'tethering is not part of your package' business. It's data, I've already paid for it, let me use it!

I suspect by September they'll have to prise it out of your cold, dead hands. :pac:
