Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This is the original rifle barrel from my Savage Model 12 FTR rifle. It has been sitting in my gun safe for a couple of years due to non use as i have custom barrel(s) fitted.

The barrel is a 30", 1:12 twist. It is chambered in .308. It has approx. 700 rounds gone through it. All rounds were factory rounds so no hot loads. It was then taken off, cleaned, and stored away.

This barrel has shot everything from 150gr to 200gr rounds. Mostly HPS, but also some hunting rounds (as an experiment). It does very well with the 150 - 155gr round, but also very well with 190gr HPS.

The barrel is Savage's G series. Meaning the threading is 1.125 inches, and as this is larger than most other rifle actions to fit it to a rifle would simply require the current threading to be removed, and re-threaded to a narrower dimension. This means no loss in length of barrel for most factory rifles making it ideal for someone looking to get into FTR shooting with minimal cost, and fuss.

However if you wanted it could be shortened to 28", 26", 24", etc, and make a tack driver of a varmint rifle barrel. Dealer's choice.

The barrel can be sold immediately to anyone holding a current, and valid .308 license. Anyone wishing to buy the barrel to upgrade their rifle to .308 calibre must first apply for, and obtain a license.

Looking for offers in and around €300.

    Thanks for looking.
