Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's on Setanta Sports 1, as opposed to Setanta Ireland (Don''t have the former myself unfortunately)

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Severe lack of Coates in that team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,325 ✭✭✭smileyj1987

I just hope the lads get a win and we have no injuries either . I would the team that is starting tonight is the one that will start our first EPL game on the 18th . I think Suarez will do some damage tonight because I would say he is in much better shape fitness wise then any of our team .

Pity that there's no Coates/Sterling/Pacheco here.

I think its better to try out the most likely team for the first game of the season now, plenty of games for the young lads throughout the season.

Wish I was watching this game. Really like that lineup and glad to see Shelvey starting. He impresses me more with each and every game.

Wonder where that will leave Henderson, and then even Adam, when Allen signs, if Shelvey is already seen as the better prospect by Rodgers.

If Agger is gone by the end of the window now Brandon deserves the 'Used car salesman' tag.

Also, nice to see some balance with the subs instead of 4 defenders and a goalie. No sub wingers would be my only issue and shows our lack of strength in that position.

I meant more for the bench ahead of say, Spearing, Adam and Carra.

Some nice stuff being played alrite. The passing game working so much better with Lucas there instead of Spearing. Also the lack of Henderson helps things too.

    Unlucky. Liking Gerrard's role

Lucas will be crucial to us this season I feel. His ability on the ball is often overlooked. He has no problem receiving it with his back to play and can turn and pass it under pressure. His ability to be more progressive with his passing has grown over the last few seasons also.

Thankfully, from watching Allen at the Olympics it looks like he could play that role to a decent standard when called upon, although hopefully Lucas stays fit for the season and Allen is utilized beside him.

God it does the heart good to see Gerrard playing further forward linking with Suarez. Been a very good performance all round so far.

Suarez is great but his finishing frustrates the hell out of me.

Definitely looked on. G'wan Dagger, I will miss him if he does leave. I love to see a man coming out from defence and making the overload.

Suarez megs him, superb, unlucky not to score.

Everytime I watch Borini he reminds me of Van Nistelrooy. Watch his movement. It's excellent. He is going to bag a hatfull of goals for you lot.

Some turn, but no goal. Sounds familiar
