Vat on hedge cutting

I know that I can claim the vat back on digger hire and building work. But can I claim it back on hedge cutting? I am not registered for vat, but ye know what I am on about.

Answer would be no, unless you could justify it under land reclamation then you might get it through. Give a look at the VAT58 application http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/vat/refunds/repayments-unregistered-persons.html#section4

Cutting of scrub with hedgecutter for to reclaim land - yes.

Flail mowing hedges just to maintain them - no.
