    Hi otto 26,

Once you have not signed up for eStatements, when you view a current account statement, pick the particular month. Scroll down and on the right hand side will be the option to sign up for eStatements. On the left hand side will be the option to export transaction history. Once you have selected export transaction history, the statement will show up as a excel worksheet and you can print from there.

    I hope this helps.
    Thanks
    Linda

    Hi

I have two questions that i need answered to see if estatements are a runner for me?

    1) Are e-statments accepted in lieu of current statements I receive in ALL situations?
    2) if not will BOI provide me with printed backdated statements Free of charge in the event i need them? Say a loan app when the bank etc needs 3 months of statements? Note that this bank may not be BOI in all cases

    thanks in advance

    1) No (it depends on the institution requiring the statement - but it seems in some cases even BoI will not accept them)
    2) No (they will charge you - quite heavily - for certified duplicate statements)

eStatements are a good thing for customers, but this aspect is not very friendly to customers who opt-in and help the bank save time and money. I had suggested to give a limited number of free duplicates per year for to eStatement customers, and BoI representatives mentioned they forwarded the feedback to the appropriate team.

    Hi goldenhoarde,

    Thanks for the questions.
    1) Are e-statments accepted in lieu of current statements I receive in ALL situations?

This will depend on the company/financial institution/service provider you are dealing with as to whether it is their policy to accept eStatements.
    2) if not will BOI provide me with printed backdated statements Free of charge in the event i need them? Say a loan app when the bank etc needs 3 months of statements? Note that this bank may not be BOI in all cases
The fee that applies to duplicate statements will apply if a customer orders a copy in paper format rather then using the eStatements. The charge for copy statements is €3.80 for the first page and €2.50 for every page thereafter. There is no charge for an up to date statement.

If you do decide to sign up for eStatements, you do have the option to change back to paper statements at any time.

    Thanks

    Billy

    Thansk Billy

So based on my questions its not a good idea to sign up for estatements as

    a) they may not be accepted by other banks etc

    b) when you do need to use them you will be charged as most places will look for more than one months statement (say 3 months runs to 3 pages it will cost me 11.40 to get this)
    c) statements i receive are currently free!

Question for you? Does BOI accept estatements for all situations?

eStatements are a great idea but not until they more accepted/digitally signed

BOI reps if you disagree with my ABC feel free to correct me.

I got an email just now from BOI asking me to switch. I've already switched, did it ages ago. Why do you send out emails like this to customers who've already made the switch? I didn't click on any of the links just in case it was a phishing attempt.

    Hi dirtyden,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

There has been no change to any of our bank charges since the launch of eStatements. As Graham previously stated, our Current Account Fees and Charges are reviewed periodically.

We have forwarded on your feedback to the relevant department.

    Many thanks,
    Tara

That was not the question I asked. I asked why it costs so much for a 3 page statement. Can you break down what you are actually charging for.

Out of curioisity what has any of the above to do with what I asked? I did not give feedback I asked a question.

    Many thanks.

Most of the utility and banking statements I get these days are eStatements, but from time to time I need a paper copy (normally to produce to one of the companies who are moving to eStatements themselves).
If BoI were to allow a couple of free 'duplicates' per year to eStatement customers, it would break one of the only barriers to signing up to them.

    Asking a question is feedback.

Sounds great, and in principle I'd love to, but I really need paper statements.

I get my phone bill online, so the only paper bill I get is the electricity. For everything these days it seems you need 2 bills or a bill and a bank statement to prove your identity- and a printout just doesn't cut the mustard.

One of those things I'm afraid.

    Hi all,

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions, as always, we will pass them on to the relevant departments. We use this feedback when reviewing or planning any future changes.

This is an email issued by Bank of Ireland. The purpose of the email is to communicate our new eStatements facility. For privacy reasons, we would never access a customer's account prior to sending this type of email. There is an 'opt-out' instruction on the email. If you do not want to receive emails from us in the future, simply click on this option and submit.

I'm afraid we cannot provide you with a breakdown of this or any other Bank of Ireland charges. eStatements is an optional facility for customers. If you do opt in, you can switch back to paper statements at any time.

We pass on any customer sentiment or comments from the forum, regarding any of our products or services, to the relevant departments.

    Thanks,

I've registered for eStatements but I don't have any available yet. Here are the steps I'm following after logging into 365online.

    1. I select Statements from the lefthand menu option
    2. Under the Recent Transactions tab I select my current account from the dropdown box
    3. I then select the View eStatements arrow button in the bottom right hand side and I get the following message in a new window: "There are no statements currently available for this account".

As I said, I've already signed up online for eStatements so I'm not sure what the problem is.

    Hi pprendeville,

Thanks for your question. If your statements are setup to be sent out once of year or every six months, it is possible that there may not be any historical statements for you to view. If this is the case, when your next statement is due to issue you'll then be able to view it online.

If you contact Banking365 on 0818 365 365, they will be able to check on the frequency of your statements and change it if you like.

    Thanks
    Pat

I was thinking I could customise the statement online in terms of dates and just print off a statement any time I wanted. Will get onto them so and see if I can change the frequency of statement issues (think its presently at 2 per year).

    Hi All,

We are delighted to announce to all our customers that you can now access eStatements on selected accounts through 365 Online, allowing you to view, print and download statements in PDF format at your own convenience.

eStatements are optional and in order to have access to them you will be required to register your mobile phone, which can be done on Banking365 online. An activation code will then be issued, which you will use to activate this new service on your account. Once registered to receive eStatements, your paper statement will no longer be issued. Just to let you know, if you have a joint account and you register for eStatements, you will receive eStatements, however, the other account holder will still receive a paper statement unless they also register for the facility.

There are many benefits of eStatements which include:
    • Better security - preventing your statements from being lost or stolen.
    • Convenience - get statements as they become available.
    • Kinder to the environment.
As always, we're very happy to hear about your eStatement views and experiences. If you have any feedback or questions, please let us know on this thread.

    Thanks,
    Tara

Tara, e-statements will no doubt reduce paper and admin costs for BOI!
Meanwhile, BOI, thinks of ever more ways of increasing bank charges on it's customers.

Why on earth should we (customers), change without an incentive to change, such as reduced bank charges:confused:

PS: BOI dont give a flying fiddlers fluck about the environment. This is all about fixing the post casino balance sheet. Nothing more!

    Hi Black Smoke,

    Thanks for getting in touch.
Why on earth should we (customers), change without an incentive to change, such as reduced bank charges:confused:

eStatements is a facility which was launched in response to an increasing customer demand. However, it is the customer's choice if they wish to sign up or continue to receive their statements by post/hard copy.

We would just like to reiterate that there has been no change to any of our fees or charges due to the launch of eStatements. I will forward your comments to the relevant department for review.

    Thanks,
    Tara

    Hi cL0h,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

Providing you have successfully activated eStatements, you should not be asked for a password. Can I ask at what stage are you being asked to enter a password? Does the password prompt appear in the centre of your screen and could you describe the exact wording in the message?

    Thanks,
    Tara

Sorry for the delay in replying. This was happening on a Linux VM I use for banking. It works on Windows so the issue is not with BOI.
