No lifeguard at Furbo beach?

Hey all, just wondering - the previous years, there was always a lifeguard stationed at Furbo beach during the summer - but not this year. Anyone know why? Cutbacks? Not worth it? Just curious - maybe someone here knows!

According to the IWS website there should be a lifeguard in Furbo in July and August. If there isn't maybe contact them. They are based in Galway City, the number can be found on the website. What I do know is that they have to have to have at least two life guards at each beach as of this year, so maybe they don't have enough for all beaches.
