Honestly I'd quite happy pay my licence fee to the BBC in exchange for a red button over the bull**** RTE coverage :(

Whats standing in your way of the red button?

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,193 ✭✭✭✭Kerrydude1981

Our relay team out soon,13th in the world by all accounts,so we should be competitive.

Why dont they just leave them in their lanes for the 4 laps? Stop all th ejostling that happens at times.

    UPC

Also given the thing is almost over the impossibility of time travel

I'm not sure which is more insurmountable

To stop huge winning margins hence the staggered first lap.

Doesn't the stagger only work itself out over one lap? If that is so, the stagger would have to be ridiculously big to take 4 laps into account.

    We talking athletics ?

Each lane out from the center adds a couple of metres extra distance

I meant in general rather than for the rest if the games.

Can you not ditch upcoming and get sky or get a great set up. This issue is going to come up again you know :-)

Wonder will this coverage be the norm for BBC fir the gamed. Hopefully

UPC is the bigger challenge without question. Glad to have put the Irish sea between me and that shower!

Joanne Cuddihy ran a great leg to be fair to her

The stagger for the 4x400m is in a different place from the 400m stagger as they stay in lanes until the 500m mark. If they were to have 1600m worth of stagger then the outside lane would be starting something like half way round the second bend, you'd also have different changeover point for each lap and it would be way too complicated.

Watch out for South Africa in the 4x400m as they are now letting Pistouris run any leg. When they took part in the world championships he was made to run the first leg and from the outside lane. SA didn't complete their run in the heats as their guy was tripped on the 2nd leg so they got given a bye to the final and will be on the inside lane I believe.

It was tough to judge with the stagger but definitely either the second runner or the third ran a stormer

Yeah, the one track race I' ve missed and it had drama. What happened with the trip . Did someone cross in to their lane or fall? Premumably whoever tripped them is gone too?

Whats the story if the track was only an 8 lane one and there wasnt room to just drop them in?

Disaster of a last changeover from GB. Gemili went off too early.

EDIt. Maybe he went too fast. OOO, out of his lane too,

Gemili ran a really fast leg other than that

If there is one thing Britain are worse than Penalties at, its relay running. Every championships they get DQ'd :pac:
