    Hi,

As the title says I'm looking for accomodation advice - namely hotel in or around the Lismore area. Hoping to spend a few day here in Sept, first time visitor. Open to other suggestions of places to visit too. It's our only break this year and prob for 2 nights, would like to be near the beach and def need a pool in hotel as we'll have 2 1/2 yr old with us. If it pours for the two days she'll still be happy out in the pool.

Would really appreciate any suggestions at all..

    Many thanks

There's only one hotel in Lismore and it doesn't have a pool.
Dungarvan would be the best place for your requirements.. it's about 25mins east by car from Lismore. Check out http://www.clonea.com/. The front door of the hotel opens out onto the beach.
Lismore is a lovely area, beauty wise, but there really isn't much for kids other than the playground.
A few things to visit, if you're looking for scenery would be Lismore Castle and Gardens, Mount Melleray Monastery and The Vee (lovely walk down to Bay Lough, which is rumored to be bottomless). The latter two being in Cappoquin which is in between Dungarvan and Lismore.
The food in Richmond House of Cappoquin is amazing, although a bit pricey.. I'd try to go for the early bird.
In dungarvan itself, you would have the beach and cinema for the kids. And, Clonea Hotel has it's own bowling alley and indoor kids playzone.
About 45 mins east of Dungarvan there is Tramore which has a somewhat thriving amusements industry. Tramore is also set on a beach.
