Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Red card every day of the week, 2 footed studs up nowhere near the ball and straight into the other players leg.

I don't know if the Olympics has made appreciate good sportsmanship and crowds or something but I rolled my eyes when I heard the crowd shouting ''Wankah! Wankah! Wankah!''

Then again, I'll probably being saying something similar to my telly screen next week if a decision goes against United.

Thats the trouble with todays footballers - bunch of pansys.

In my day, Chopper Harris and breaks yer legs bremner made sure you knew were tackled

    Yellow card at best

Maybe you should watch rugby. Football has been like this for years.
    Our day is long gone.

The players all know the score, 2 footed lunge will most likely see a red, blame the player, not the ref.

The more I see it the worse it look's but the fact still remains it should have been a chelsea free and a second yellow 30 seconds previous to that Ivan foul.

Oh how I've missed these discussion's about how **** ref's generally are these last few months :D

Red card? WTF? Already an horrendous refereeing decision and the season hasn't even properly started!

How can you blame the Ref? He was dead right to send him off there. He's officiating on today's rules, not 20 years ago.

City should be down to 10, now Chelsea are.

Ivanovic basically tried to hook his legs around the ball but mistimed it.

Common sense would be for the Ivanovic not to do it. Hes so experienced, and knows the rules inside out.
Watch the tackle at half time, and we'll see how dangerous it is.

Doesnt matter if its a friendly or a champions league final, you cant do that.
I'm not saying it wasn't dangerous, just thought he could leave it go considering it's a friendly and early in the game.
Wasn't the worst tackle you will ever see,of course the letter of the law says he goes...,

You can blame the ref for his terrible decision 30 seconds earlier regarding Savic and Torres.

Think Chelsea would prefer Savic on the field.:pac:

No blame Ivanovic for his terrible decision.

Fairly dull game overall, although if City's front 3 can get on the same page they should win. Also don't know why the Chelsea players are complaining to the ref, it's a red card every day of the week.

Hazard should be good for a few laughs this season, looks like a ready made replacement for Drogba.

I just noticed it was Ivanovic and Kolarov. Both Serbians.

They are a bit like that! Not suggesting all Serbs players commit genocide on the pitch ;)

does this mean Ivanovic is banned in the league??

Exactly, its the rule. He had to go.
Since its a friendly, maybe ivanovic should have not gone in so hard.
    But obviously that is silly.
Just as silly to ask a ref to leave it considering its a friendly.

Never mind his trailing right leg which gave the impression of a two footed lunge, his left went over the ball and caught the opposing players shin.

It's a red every day of the week. Could have easily broken his leg.

Torres starting lively again. Hope he gets close to 20 goals this season for us.

Dunno what Kompany is giving out a bit. De Jong was fouling Torres before he obstructed him.

    That Azar fella looks decent.

Andy Townsend is embarrassing himself on ITV.

If anything they should be praising the Ref more for judging that right in real time, cause almost everyone thought wrong decision when they seen it first.

Did they just say it's one of his first big games to ref as well?

Can you physically do a one footed lunge?
    Unless you are a ballerina?
One foot naturally follows the other unless you do damage to yourself!

I can never decide which is worse, Irish/English commentators pronouncing foreign names with no effort at correct pronunciation or doing it with a really awkward-sounding pronunciation.

Just call him Hazard, for God's sake.

None of that fancy, continental ''Aza'' nonsense.

Is that actually how ya pronounce it? I'm confused now? Haha

Along the same lines of the pronunciation of Henry. If he was English he'd be called Hazard instead of Azard.

The English don't sound their "h" either so taking 'Arry Redknapp as the precedent, then at least they are being consistent.
