In fairness, their last hiatus (circa 2009) lasted all of ten minutes :pac:

(I don't think they'll be here within the year, mind, just can't see that hiatus lasting very long!)

Ah yea it wont last long , id give them 2 - 3 years max (and thats being nice ha)

Someone from the promoters let it slip this morning. It's going to be BON JOVI.

    Meh. :(

    Was really hoping for Coldplay.

Stone Roses just announced dates for London and Glasgow. I really hope they steer clear of Slane!

They wouldnt be able to sell out Slane after doing PP last year

Yeah but that show sold out pretty quickly from what I remember, and there's talk of a new album from them next year

Massive case of nostalgia helped with that sell out though. And even then tickets were pretty easy to come by

    How about Paul McCartney?
Jaysus, I wouldn't mind that! He was unreal at the RDS in 2010. But that'd be completely out of the blue. Will he even be touring? Will he even be alive?

I suppose we could say that about the stones aswell though... :D

But they played Pukkelpop last year, they wouldnt play Pukkelpop again this year.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Paul McCartney would be class at slane!!....a proper legend

Bon Jovi are great live, but I've seen them too many times to entice me to go to Slane.

Jesus Bon Jovi? A tedious, middle of the road, pop band stuck in the 80s are going to play Slane? Well at least it won't be rowdy, Bon Jovi fans must be nearing their 50s.

Robbie Williams is good, the only Slane I wasn't impressed by was Madonna.

dont get me started.......worst concert experience I have ever had.....and that was with a free ticket too......

Any Slane gigs I was at in the 1990s were pretty good.

Any Slane gigs I've been at in the 2000s were pretty poor.

Wouldnt go to Bon Jovi even with a free ticket. But there will be enough people out there who enjoy getting drunk in a field to fill the place up.

Be careful threein99, showing your disinterest in Bon Jovi at Slane will only result in a very helpful "don't go then" reply from Mental Mickey...or maybe he only throws his insightful nuggets my way

    :p

I don't think there is anything wrong with them, like I said they are a great live act...its just I've seen them loads before and for the hassle in getting out of Slane it would need to be a proper legend who I've never seen before to go there again

1: there's apparently a second date, so they might do it

    2: it could've been a worse band announced....like Coldplay :p
