unlocking iphone 3gs

Hi a quick question, my friend had an I phone 3gs on bill pay (o2) he wasnt paying the bills etc and decided to give me the phone, now Im on vodafone network and would like to get the phone unlocked, i have been quoted prices between 45-85 euro to get it factory unlocked, now I havent mentioned to the shop guys it was bill…
