Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Possible Flooding and Wind damage - Wednesday 15th

There is a weather warning in effect for tomorrow Wednesday the fifteenth. Heavy rain on already saturated soil could be a big problem in some areas and particular river systems. Low pressure, high tides, strong winds and heavy rain could combine to cause flooding particularly in South and East coasts areas. High winds could cause damage and people camping/hiking could be at risk in elevated areas near the South and East coasts.

If this comes to pass there could be serious disruption to people's lives. Volunteers who have trained all year may be asked to respond with organisations like Mountain Rescue Civil Defence the many lifeboat volunteers among others potentially being involved. People living in or with properties in areas that are susceptible to flooding especially in the East and South may want to take precautions like elevating valuable items and have sand bags ready. Vulnerable people like the elderly could be given a gentle heads up and if things deteriorate badly checked on by family/neighbours/volunteers. Hopefully this won't be a serious event and the many volunteers out there in relevant areas won't need to respond but this could be a big deal and being prepared beforehand is better than being wise after the fact. It is due to start in the South overnight and move northwards after that.

Please add your thoughts/volunteer experiences and any updates would be very welcome.
