Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I just finished a degree in Business and Management in DIT and am now wondering what direction to go in.
I have always loved business since I started it in secondary school and think I would enjoy teaching it.
Just looking for any advice or help in deciding what to do. I have looked into Hibernia college but that seems like an expensive option? I was considering going to the uk to get the hdip in education? Has anyone else done this and then come back to Ireland to teach?
Any help or advice would be much appreciated as I am rather confused as to how to go about it

I did a commerce degree and felt it gave you options but you werent trained for anything..Im a teacher now and it was best move ever.and it is a very good career if you can get into it... There will have to be new teachers regardless of what the govt say...its tough at the moment but once this blows over...the demographics will force the govt to hire...
Did you look into irish hdip..i worked in a school doing my dip hours then the principal gave me sub hours for rest of morning. It really paid my way thru college..i know someone who is doing hibernia and subbing at same time and they really rate it..it seems to take two years though and he also looked into doing the dip in UK but went for hibernia instead.

Warning, mini-rant on the way. By the way this is not aimed directly at the op.
There seems to be a lot of posts in here from people asking whether or not they should try teaching. Trying teaching isn't just like trying a new flavour of ice cream. You are taking on a job where you directly affect the lives of young people. You should become a teacher if you really, really want to. If you are willing to dedicate yourself to a profession that can be draining and exhilarating, wearisome and rewarding and most of all life-changing. Life-changing for you and those that you teach.
To me teaching is about 80% communication and 20% knowledge. You must love your subject but more than that you must love teaching.
If you feel the need, and it should be a need,to teach then welcome to the best and most important career in the world. If not, try pistachio.
