Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My name is too unique to publish, it is used in one of the soaps.

I've only ever once met a person with the same name and that was 10 or so years ago. No idea how my parents came up with the name, I was going to be an yvette or Paula.

I wish my name was maximus or Xavier instead of boring old John.

When my sis was living in Scotland, she got called Neddy.

My name's Finbarr. I have only met one other one in 24 years and have only heard of two others. Also, I'm the only one of those four who spells it with two R's.

Maybe it was spelt wrong, I know someone called Aishling and I'm convinced that her mother slipped the H in there by mistake

Ha ha still not there, for either myself or my daughter.

My daughter is Samantha 2 sons Ryan and Benjamin. Father in law said I named my first 2 after dogs Sam and Ben.

Thinking about it, Ben and Sam are both eastender characters. Ryan is a coronation street character and was also eastenders and emerdale characters.

    More clues,

I'm the name of a Dublin lawyer, I am also a cave, but not in this country. I am a uk soap character.

@Not my name, but I know a girl called Monseratt. I love it. When I have children I an going to give them really regal names but will probably call them a nickname so they dont get slagged growing up. But will make them stand out in later life.

When I grew up in the uk the pronunciation was an/thon/nee

When I moved back to Ireland it was ant/a/nee

Irish have trouble with the 'th' pronunciation.

I was just wondering how you pronounce Anthony? Nothing against your ma!

    I know, I was joking :)

We Antos have a tendency to say that now and again.

Well where I come from in Dublin it is pronounced Ahhht neee. But the UK version sounds way more appealing to me. :)

I have a very common Irish name. (not actually Lia!)

Never really liked it growing up because no one in countries outside Ireland I lived in could pronounce it.

I guess it's alright now. Still have to pronounce it about 10 times a day to American guests at the hotel I work in!
