My best friend is expecting a baby in the coming months and has asked me to have a look for a pram for her. She lives in Norway and is coming to visit me in a few weeks. Prams etc for super expensive over there so she is planning on buying a pram here and bringing it back with her. Its what she did for her daughter too albeit 13yrs ago.

She is looking for a pram that:
"Has to have big wheels, no swivelly wheels (u know the small ones that turn all directions). And has to be able to lay down flat and cover baby properly for weather."

    kind like this one

if the above link doesnt work, the pram is the one with the metal basket and 4 stationary wheels.

If anyone knows where I can get something similar, ideally in louth or dublin that would be great.

    Thanks x

Check out the silver cross ones - think they have similar wheels? Kealys in walkinstown have them and Bella baby dundrum too I think? Think they're pricey tho!

The Maxi Cosi Mura might suit them.
Try kiddicare.com and she might see something that she likes.

Look up the polish websites or check on adverts for shops, i think theres one called baby wheels or something. That style is very popular for eastern european especially for all terraine walking in bad weather. The seem to be between 300 and 500, they also dont usually take a car seat.

There are similar types on this site and they aren't costing the earth.

gosh thanks for all your help.
Ive looked through them and I think the Royal CLassic 3 in 1 on babywheels.ie is the closest to what she is looking for.

Trying now to find reviews on that one now.
Have sent her the links and seeing if anything I've come up with is matching what she wants. :)

I bought one of the prams from that website, I think it was the VIP style or an older version of it that I had.

The quality of them is excellent. Every part of them very sturdy & durable.
The covers were also great quality & didn't stain too easy.

The only problem I had with them was they were a very heavy pram to dismantle & put in/out of the car boot.
That said, I had a small car at the time so had to wrestle a bit to get it in. Also I'm a bit of a short ass which didn't help :o

I think that style of pram is going to be a little heavier than your Quinny or Maxi Cosi type pram anyway.

The suspension on the wheels was absolutely brill for rough terrain (even just gravelly/pot holed surfaces), baby was never jolted around in it as a result.

I did find the pram a little heavy when lifting the wheels off the ground to mount kerbs when in pram mode, buggy mode wasn't quite so heavy.

    HTH :)
