Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Dublin Horse Show is on at the moment.

Was thinking of going to the RDS to catch the goings on, always an enjoyable day.

Went on to their website which forwarded me to ticketmaster.

    It's €53.30 for a seat.

Just €21.00 for general entry, no seat.

Is €53.30 too much or too little.

    I think it's toooooo much.

    What think ye

How many hours is the seat for?

It doesn't seem too excessive given the price of concerts and other sporting events.

I, for one, am absolutely flabbergasted.

Sure you can just stick on your sex & the city dvds for a free horse show...

If you haven't been before it is a good day out, you also get to see the horses up close and they are truly beautiful creatures. I actually think that is hood value for money, it is a good experience.

I love horse riding, but all that bouncing around gives me a raging hard on.

There has to be a way to keep out those who would stand around with their hands down the front of their trousers. Think of the horses man, think of the horses.

Given the people who usually go to it, it's pretty much peanuts...

Supply and demand , yada yada.

    The seats all full?

you get a mixture of people there, city and country.

On TV there're showing the parade just now. Not full, maybe people don't want to watch that though so will go to their seats in a bit.

German manager just there being asked if Germany will win: "No" he responded.

What would you pay for a seat in the Aviva?

Go to Smithfield instead. Same thing, just the accents are different.

The horse show is a decidedly upper-middle class affair, this kind of money is peanuts to them.

I would never get saddled with paying money to watch some tool mincing around on a bleedin horse. I can watch them fall off for free on Youtube.

OP if you haven't been to one before I highly recommend you go, I guarantee you will enjoy it it really is much better then spending 50 quid in a pub/club.

I don't agree, how much is a ticket to see Ireland play or a concert.

That's not really my point. I'm saying that 50 odd bucks is nothing to these people, i'm not saying other people can't afford it at all.

Gives me a pain in the bollocks, or maybe I'm just a poor rider :o

    LOL

Seriously you see them on tele and not think twice about them, but up close to them and they are one of natures most noble creatures, their symmetry, the ripping muscles, the shining hair, their strength,,,,,,err yeah I have it bad, I am going to the bathroom.

It's a full day and you get to see some of the worlds best horses and riders, plus everything else that's going on, if you're a horsie person you can make that back on cut price gear anyway.

I'll still only get the cheap ticket though, regardless of value 53 quid is a lot to drop in one go, to me anyway.

Shows what you know. The Horse show is like the all-Ireland. There'll be some plummy accents about and some bimbos for the best-dressed, but mainly ordinary horse people, not toffs.

Yeah I went a few times and I am hardly a toff, I wish I was, if that counts, as I said before it is a good day out and good sport as well.
