Phone/TV/Broadband packages

I live in Firhouse in Dublin and I've just discovered that I can't get the P/TV/B package with UPC because they never installed the correct cable in this part of Firhouse (neighbours in next estate have it). According to Eircom our phone line will only sustain 3 mb because we're too far from the exchange so we're doomed to…

According to Eircom our phone line will only sustain 3 mb because we're too far from the exchange so we're doomed to slow slow internet because nobody is going to put money into it now........Also, we can't avail of any of the cheaper packages.
Are we being fed a load of cobblers? Anyone any alternative suggestions?
