Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So apparently there's a chart just made, that shows the price of beer over time, and it illustrates how we're doing compared to the other GrIIS countries.

    The result:
So really the beer chart says it all: Greece: a wreck. Germany: calm. Spain and Italy: in trouble, and Ireland making a comeback.

So beer really does save us. Tonight, when you go out and have a few bevvies, know that you are also doing your bit for the recovery.

Godspeed, Irish Drinkers, your country needs you!

So the cheaper the beer, the more likely the economy is doing good?

Actually here the price is related to wages
    http://www.finfacts.ie/Private/bestprice/guinnessindex.htm

The Guinness index compares the price of a pint of Guinness to the average wage before tax. Varied between 133 and 160 pints since 1973

It's really down to how much spare money people have after paying the bills, assuming you don't save it all, spending it makes the economic world go round!

The more the money moves around the healthier the economy is, the more pockets it goes through (each taking a cut) the better.

Anyone who thinks Ireland is staging an economic comeback while the taxpayer is being raped with repaying pirvate debt is totally deluded.

Ugh, please stop using the serious term rape to mean a Household Charge and the Universal Social Charge.

    Seriously inappropriate.

    It's not inappropriate.

The shafting of the Irish taxpayer with private debt has destroyed the economy and ruined people's lives which leads to an increase in suicides.
