Whats the advantage of chrome web store?

    Just started using chrome again after using firefox for the last few years. had a look at chrome web store this afternoon but not sure exactly what the advantage of adding an app to chrome when I can add it to favorites?

    Because favourites are websites, apps/extensions contain functionality.
    I have Ad_block Plus installed, Hoverzoom, goo.gl shortner and Gmail Checker

    Got that bit, but for "apps" like Youtube, hotmail, calendar etc. whats the advantage?

    Some are dedicated built HTML5 apps like Tweetdeck which works & looks really well or games but its true some are lazy shortcuts that youre better off with a bookmark.
    Finding which is which is the hard part
