Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Last time this ended 2-2 but then we had more than Deofe to lead the line expect a draw or loss we should be good defensively but going forward we are a bit short.

    Friedel,
    Walker, Gallas, Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto,
    Livermore, Sandro,
    Lennon, Sigurdsson, Bale
    Defoe

Subs Cudicini, Naughton, Vertonghen, Jenas, Townsend, Van der Vaart and Kane

    Newcastle:
    Krul
    Simpson Perch Taylor Santon
    ----Tiote Cabaye Jonas
    ----Ben Arfa Cisse Ba

I can see both teams cancelling each other with the chances they create but I think Spurs will win. Will be a close match.

What's this with Newcastle not being able to find one of their players?

What the hell was with Lennon's head on the graphics? Looked like a Mii!

Did ESPN just say Newcastle don't know where Marveaux is?

Marvaux couldn't be called up to subs bench because he couldn't be found!

Hopefully it's nothing too serious for Tiote. It was a great challenge.

    great game so far

Spurs just edging it so far, and it's been an enjoyable game.

Ben Arfa is looking very good.

The ref has bottled that, definitely should have been a second yellow for Simpson there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,161 ✭✭✭BetterCallSaul

Dreadful first half from us as the home team. Ben Arfa looks lively, the rest still look like they're still on summer holidays.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

Surprised at how well we've played so far very little from Newcastle so far hopefully that doesn't change after the break

Pure dive Paully, no contact i reckon.

Anyone else finding Chris Waddle hard to take?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,723 ✭✭✭bazual

Happy with the nil all so far considering we have 5 players not really match fit. Anita for Cabaye soon enough i reckon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

Anyone know what the stats are first half?

Need to throw Anita on, he has already played a competitive game last weekend. Tiote and Cabaye are miles off the pace here.

AVB looks like he got his setup just right first half. Spurs unlucky not to be leading.

Intresting I thought we'd have more possession given we keep kicking it along the back.

    Pardew sent to the stands

Great goal from Ba, brilliant finish.

What the **** is Pardew at pushing the linesman? Absolutely no need for it at all and hopefully the FA will take action.

Heat of the moment when the linesman missed the ball going out of play that nearly led to Spurs scoring

    ******

It was accidental. He didn't mean to, he just got a bit excited at the ball going out and didn't realise the linesman was standing right beside him.

Don't like saying it but think these two sides will fair quite worse off than last year

First game syndrome. Was at the Arsenal game last year and we looked the exact same.

The ball didn't fully go out.

I hope Pardew apologises after the game.

Not basing it just on this you know (see premier league predictions thread!!!)

No need to push him though just because he didn't agree with the decision FFS (and I'd say the same if O'Neill did it before the Newcastle fans start). Pardew has acted petulant on the sideline far too many times in his career and that goes back as far as his West Ham days.

Spurs still need a striker and a Modric replacement.

Well, I don't think we will finish 5th either, but I think we will challenge for the top 6 again.

Modric will prove a massive loss. Don't think Defoe will be enough they need a 20 goals a season lad if they want to compete.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,707 ✭✭✭CR 7

Shouldn't that have been a backpass? Not allowed intentionally do that, I thought.

We shall wait and see. Think top 4 will be well ahead of the chasing pack anyway

    1-1 deserved to be fair

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,054 ✭✭✭✭Professey Chin

    Defoe with the equaliser.
Thought the initial header was offside but could be wrong

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,656 ✭✭✭cgpg5

    Hands up well deserved,

    Defoe needs a big season!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,723 ✭✭✭bazual

Defoe looked offside there, would like to see that again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,084 ✭✭✭✭Kirby

Bit lucky that it came off the post.....twice.
