Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It said my IQ is 105! (Quite challenging... Ya gotta THINK before you answer the questions)

30 questions..... (At the end just put in a bogus name/email address .. your results are given right on the page)

Mostly because online ones have no bearing on your IQ.

Even the dumbest of people I know manage to get 110+ on these things.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,771 ✭✭✭Dude111

    I thought i did pretty good getting 105 :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 196 ✭✭fiinch

says i got 120 but do you really want to trust an online test for. suppose it's a bit of fun anyway.

i had to do a trinity aptitude test to get into my psychology course and i can tell you that was a whole lot harder than this online one

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,836 ✭✭✭Colmustard

I maybe thick, but I would be suspicious about everyone getting over the average. So either the test is bogus or yiz are all liars.

But these things will always show a much higher IQ than what you'd score on a real test anyway.

I have never really believed in these tests as a measure of intelligence, because if I did it would indicate I should be running around a field chasing flies rather than where I am today.

I never wanted to join Mensa anyway /huff

IQ is fairly irrelevant. Mine falls somewhere between genius and gifted and I'm certainly neither. If you're an over-achieving academic well-read visual thinker you'll do exceptionally well, if you're anything else you'll under-perform.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,184 ✭✭✭3ndahalfof6

I did it but I could not think of a false email address so it would not give me the score.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,400 ✭✭✭Medusa22

My score was 111, I would have preferred a better result but I am fairly certain that an online IQ test is not exactly accurate.

The clock on mind seemed a little messed up... It seemed to change when I moved up and down the page, rather than in line with actual time...

The phrasing on question 3 is dodgy, as is 23.

Another couple which I didn't really get:
    Question 7:
Which set of letters, when unscrambled, gives the name of a city:
    RHEPT
    TRISK
    GRITE

    Anyone?
    And Question 18:
Shot is to Host as Spot is to
    Post
    Pots
    Tops
    Spot
    ?

I went with Post, but I don't know if rhyming anagrams are what they are looking for...
    27. Complete the series Z,X,U,Q
    N
    M
    L
    K
    ?

120, so that makes the report approx 20 points (at least) out just to flatter me into paying 9 dollars.

To the op, congrats on putting on two like coloured socks today :)

And to the person who couldn't think up a false email address - consider that as your test taken:p

I got 126 i thought the test is crap. The problem with tests like this one is thatthey are culturally biased towards an English speaking western person.

Also its clearly a money scam in any case.

    What I went with was

    PERTH
    Post (1st letter to 3rd)
    L (z-2=x x-3=u u-4=q q-5=L)

126, dont know anything about IQ tests just took it because I was bored

How can you trust a IQ test from a website that uses "concise" as a verb!?

You think a proper one isin't stupid??

I've done two proper ones, 120 in the first, but now I knew what was asked and how to work them out-->tried out a few in my own time, 160 in the second one. If I did it again I know I'd score higher.

    Aren't they all stupid?

These online tests are rubbish btw, they count for nothing.

You need to be qualified to issue a test, I had one done when I was younger by a qualified psychologist.

I'd be interested in getting another one done to see how much my IQ has dropped since then.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,836 ✭✭✭Colmustard

I met someone in London who had a real mensa score of 155, to what I heard he never turned up at lectures spent most his tome drunk and high and he still got a top degree in molecular biology, the bastard.

It would be nice to have it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 114 ✭✭mrwhimwham

Did one of these when I was younger down in WIT and I can tell you that it's on-line counterpart there is piss easy in comparison.
