Audio Technica SL-800/SL-1000 Headphones?

    Hi guys

Just wondering if anybody could help me out. I've been after a set of Beats by Dre for about 2 years now but to be honest I can't jusstify paying the price! I'm not really "into" headphones all that much and generally listen to music a lot more on the computer or in the car. I'll be honest and say that I want the Beats more for the style of them than anything else. I was having a look on eBay earlier and came across these.

    http://www.ebay.ie/itm/WHITE-SOLID-BASS-SL1000-HEADPHONES-MUSIC-BEATS-IPOD-NANO-TOUCH-4-IPHONE-4-4S-/130744696816?pt=UK_AudioVisualElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Headphones&hash=item1e70fdbff0

As you can see they look VERY similar to Beats by Dre but at a fraction of the price. As I explained I'm not really into headphones that much so I'm not up on my brands. I do like the look of these but having said that I don't want to buy anything that is going to sound crap either!

Does anybody have any experience of these?

    Cheers

Audio Technica don't sell headphones SL-800 or Sl-1000.

Firstly that's not made by audio technica, who are a reputable brand, the pair in your link seem to be a mix of sony and beats. As far as I can tell there is no brand on them so finding any reviews is next to impossible and item quality could vary. Secondly you're buying a knock off product on ebay that looks very little like the real thing so don't expect any come backs if it sounds sh*t or if it breaks.

If you're set on buying fake products go to dealextreme or other Chinese/Asian websites that specialise in these sort of goods and don't bother with ebay resellers so you're not getting an additional price up. If you're willing to pay for an imitation brand then read up "Noontec Zoro" or "Fanny Wangs". These are more expensive but are at least reputable and not fakes (more like affordable clones) and chances are the retailer or maker will have a warranty. The consensus from reputable reviewers is that these sound better than Beats yet cost a fraction of the price.

Do more research before you part with your cash and take time before making a decision; there is far more value for money and better looking headphones out there than Beats that you won't know of. Websites like head-fi, headphonia, and inner fidelity are good starting points to learn and have plenty of reviews to bring you up to speed. Also I'd avoid buying from headphones from ebay as it's rife with fakes.
