Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

great pics, (as a Kilkenny man I'm biased however :D).
Where were you positioned when taking them? What gear were you using and what settings etc? Sorry for the questions, just wondering if it's worth me bringing my D80 and the 18-200 VR lens to the final (tickets pending), probably not.

I had a seat in Section 534 midway down - it is roughly half way between the goal and the 70m metre line

See the layout here -go to level 5.

    http://www.crokepark.ie/about/seating-plans

If you click on the number 534 you will see the general view from there - I concentrated on action from the half way line to goal.

Yes it would definitely be worth your while bringing that equipment unless you are way up in section 7 - and then even worth trying out.

Behind the goal is pretty useless as the netting ( to catch high balls) is a total hindrance.

I had a D7000 with a Nikon 80- 400mm zoom lens- but found that most of the time I was using the zoom in the 100- 250mm range.
You really need a monopod just to anchor the camera/lens.

    The photos below were taken f5/ 120mm/ 640 iso/ 1/400th of a sec.

(the photos were about 50% cropped subsequently)

Brilliant photography. You have a future in sports photography without doubt. Well done. Hope you do the same for the football.

Like that last shot, although I'd crop it into a portrait of just the main two players and get rid of the dead space. Just my opinion though :)

Done and thanks for the feedback:)

One of the problems when using pix ie is that every photo is 800 pixels longest side - so in a portrait photo you have to scroll down to see the entire pic which is a pain in the ass.
