Why not feed it from a 13A plug top as a test ?
I don't think it would be a problem. But remember you will not have much capacity left on the circuit.

theres enough capacity -its a 4sq radial only 1 DS
I decided against in case theres a comeback on it

    Seperate feed, I reckon.

If in doubt this is always the best solution. You can never be criticised for doing this.

I don't see why it needs to be on an RCD or why it would trip one.

If you have it on a dedicated circuit you can put it on it's own RCD if you feel the need. When a device is on a dedicated RCD the chances of nuisance tripping is reduced.

There's a bit too much concern about nuisance tripping.

The air con unit shouldn't trip anything unless it's actually faulty or has water condensing onto electrical components.

There's no particular reason why an air conditioner would be exempt from requiring an RCD either.

If it's <13A load, plugging it straight into a socket would be the best solution.

i had spare capacity on a nearby socket circuit
I ended up running a 4sq radial and connecting it as a fixed appliance
If theres a nuisance trip and engineer callout-id end up taking the rap
