Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just keep the ball as far away from our back 4 as possible and we could get a result

Celtic are very positive at the moment, need to put the ball into the net while they still have the momentum

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,322 ✭✭✭RoryMac

Armstrong & GMS have been very good, working hard & good on the ball

    Make that back 5

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,322 ✭✭✭RoryMac

No need for Gordon to touch that ball, it was going out. Going to need a pep talk at ht.

It seems to be every game in Europe turns our defenders into Sunday league players. Our midfield is well up to the task and Griffith's has done well but at the back its a comedy show

Should be a thread for this. Started one there.

I meant to put that in the other thread:pac:

We desperately need a goal here - our intensity seems to be dropping and I can see Inter hitting us again shortly if we don't get something soon.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,322 ✭✭✭RoryMac

Not surprising after the 1st half but Inter seem to fancy beating Gordon from anywhere on the pitch. Could work to our favour in the 2nd leg if they keep taking potshots rather than work themselves into positions

    Guidetti!

    Absolutely deserved

If only Gordon didnt have a howler, it would have been a good victory

Cracking finish and no more than celtic deserved.
Pity about Gordon's errors but still plenty to play for next week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,534 ✭✭✭SomethingElse

If we play like that again next week we'll do it, we had a serious amount of bad luck with the mistakes that happened tonight. On another night we could have won 3-1 - it's all to play for in the San Siro

3-3. Sounds like I missed an absolute cracker

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,322 ✭✭✭RoryMac

Great game and great performance by the team. Unfortunately Gordon picked tonight to have an uncharacteristically poor game. We gifted them all 3 goals.

Tonight was an example of how a team with limited resources can match the bigger teams without resorting to long ball football. We passed the ball brilliantly, played some great one touch passes and were the better team for a lot of the game.

Hopefully Guidetti breaking his barren spell will see him return to his early season form.

Massive task to get anything in the San Siro but if we play like this again without Gordon's mistakes we have a shot

Cracking game, some silly errors but well pleased with our performance.
We should have a lot of confidence going over there, we actually played some great football and kept at it right untill the end

You certainly did. Any neutrals watching that game would have been loving it. Disappointing that we dug ourselves such a big hole early on which made winning the game all but impossible. But what a great fight back and such great character to keep going right to the end and force that late goal. Tough on Gordon who has been outstanding all season that he had such a nightmare but for me the quality we showed not just the fight back was impressive. We played some good football and carved them up at times. Granted we have lots to work on ourselves for this level but for me there was way more positives to take from that game then negatives.

Celtic's right back Matthew's looks an excellent player. The first Celtic goal was one of the best worked goals I've seen in a long time.

Matthews is a bit of a funny one in that he can have a dodgy run for ages and then turn in a performance like that last night

The talent is there, the consistency ain't.

I think there might be a bit of complacency from him in the SPL games too, a lot of his better performances seem to come against the big teams

Inconsistency is harsh when its more injury & Lustig stop him from getting a good run of games under his belt and getting his match sharpness up to the level its at now.

    A very solid player imo

I agree 100%. He was consistently great for Cardiff. He just needs a long term run.

1-0 Commons with a half volley. Bit of luck in the build up but you get the breaks more often than not when you are playing positively. VVD driving at defenders created all sorts of confusion
