hi all, we're (myself and the wife)looking for somewhere to eat on friday night. We have a black tie event in stephens green area and want somewhere before hand to dine in, we'll be suited up so dont want to feel over dressed anywhere to be honest... all recommendations are welcomed although nothing to exclusive as the budget just isnt there :o
was thinking of pre-theatre type options?
    thanks in advance

Peploes or The Trocedero are nice. There's also loads on Baggot Street such as Hugo's, Bang or Il Segreto depending on what type of food you like. I think they all do pre-theatre menus.

One Pico is lovely and they do pre-theatre.

The early evening menu at The Pig's Ear is another good option too.

La Mere Zou is on Stephen's Green and does fairly cracking French-syle food. Also has a cheap enough (€27) 3 course early bird menu (from 6 to 7pm).

So long as you don't order wine and keep it to two courses most places mentioned would be fine in terms of price.

What were you wanting to spend, max?
