Hi, This could be something very silly.

There is a user here from another company who wants to use web remote desktop(win2003) to access his pc back in slovakia, outside of our network this works fine(from any internet source), but here he cant connect.

    Any suggestions?

Who is she connecting to the Desktop

    RDP, Web-Portal, Citrix, SSH?

Also check with your networking team if they do an egress filtering.

Was the screenshot taken from within the other person company { i.e. on their network} ?

Since the URI does not have a Domain name or TLD on it, so they more them likely need to use the full DNS names of the RDP Server.

Also putting a RDP Server on an external IP accessible from the internet is a READY BAD idea.

no that's just a screenshot off the web :)

he can actually log into this part fine, when he selects his pc and tries to connect is when the error arrives

he logs on to his computer that's in slovakia through web remote desktop from anywhere using an address like this

    https://mailke.companyname.sk/Remote/logon.aspx ReturnUrl=%2fremote%2fDefault.aspx

First check the firewall. Second, find the ports you need open and make sure the router on his side is not blocking any ports. You also will need to make sure port forwarding is setup on his router to allow data through those ports.

"Is he trying to connect through your company’s network i.e. LAN? Your company firewall might be blocking him for gaining remote access and also his target remote computer should be on same network as your company’s in order to remotely access it. Try accessing remote computer in Slovakia using various remote support tools such as logmeinrescue, gosupportnow, GoToMyPC etc.

Alternatively, you can even deploy on premise remote support appliance such as Bomgar or RHUB appliances for remotely accessing computers from anywhere.
