I'm changing my vote to Bondiola on Haddington Road. The combination of delicious meat (pork! steak! argentinian sausage!) with chimichurri, ham, cheese, lettuce and tomato NYOMOMOMOMOM

Sounds good, I'm going to try it. Where is it? Is this it beside No 51?

Yeah, where that delicatessen was. They have lovely cakey things in there also, if that's your thing.

Another recommendation for a deadly sandwich around there is Keshk on Mespil Rd - they have a grilled chicken ciabatta that a lot of people think is the best sandwich around here.
I'm a vegetarian, so I've not tried the chicken one, but the grilled vegetable ciabatta is delicious.

Just been and yes, it's quality. Had the pork, the Bondiola. Want that steak one with a fried egg on it next time!

I'm going on a sandwich binge this weekend after reading this thread......
Reckon the walks between establishments will aid the digestion

Cafe By Day (formerly Munchies) in Drumcondra do the most amazing toasted chicken ciabatta. Hot chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato with Ballymaloe relish and chili mayo

The steak and egg one is soooo good as well - it's really hard to choose between them both!

Recently came across Probus Wines on Fenian Street. It's a specialist world beer and wine shop. They have started selling Sheridan's cheese and make up amazing sandwiches. The other day I got bresaola, hard goat cheese and red onion marmalade on sourdough bread. It took a few mins to make but it was incredibly tasty.
Well worth a try. They do beer tastings and things as well and are very nice and helpful in there.

That sandwich sounds amazing! Love some bresaola! Must take a trip up.

Carvery sandwiches in Fresh are good.

The only thing I will say against it is that they are rather slow, so be prepared to wait 10 mins even if yours is the only order they have on. I think it's worth it though!

Junior's in ringsend do amazing sandwiches Monday - Friday at lunchtime. The Chargrilled Chicken has to be the best sandwich I've tasted in Dublin - give it a go and you won't regret it!

Listons on Camden St.- they use proper French baguette, not the CdF stuff.
+1 for Bolands off Sth Anne St. as well.

Scrolling through the thread I am surprised no-one has mentioned the Bakery on Essex Street in Templebar. Its been there for a decade or so now, but it still seems not to be as widely known by locals as it is by tourists. I highly recommend people to try it. They make their own bread (several kinds) and the ingredients are really top notch. I would rate it higher than Pig & Heifer which a lot of people here some to love.

Also glad to see someone mention Boland's. The quality mightn't be up there with somewhere like the Bakery but they are really good value.

+1 for Pig and Heifer and Juniors.

Pig and Heifer have a slightly better selection.

Don't know if its been mentioned here yet, but if you can out your mind off the insane queueing system they employ, McCabes Deli in George Plaza and Townsend St do the best ciabatta I've had in a long while.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I love the Sandwich Market on Parkgate street. They do lovely things with pastrami.

Just as a note, Dublin City Food don't serve the yummy sandwiches until after twelve. Pity they don't say that anywhere on the site or facebook page.
I had a wasted journey today, but I shall try again when I get a chance.

Was there today, but was disappointed in the pulled pork. Was a nice flavour, but it was mostly ruby slaw.

I went past cafe Nook on Wexford St today at about 12.15, but they were closed.

I would be very sorry if they have gone out of business. They had superb sandwiches, including an excellent pulled-pork ciabatta.

They might not be the biggest or the trendiest, but the sandwiches in Simon's Place in George's St Arcade have my vote. The bread is fantastic and the filings are not mean but above all the quality is consistently good. Add a side of the Cauliflower Cheese salad and bob's your uncle.

Simons Place is by some considerable distance my favourite cafe in Dublin.

The yummiest sandwich I've had in Dublin was a Reuben that I got in a cafe on Francis Street that sadly was only open for about two years, and shut down I think last year. Just Off Francis.

The Pig & Heifer Pastrami Melt on Rye is unreal. Best i have had in Dublin.

after reading the reviews here about the Bodaga Argentinian joint on Haddington Road, i went to sample a sambo there on Friday.

mmmmmm.... a lovely simple steak type sambo. The lambito i think was the name??? very tasty, great steak, really nice dressing, and lovely lettuce. A good lettuce is the sign of a quality sambo, none of that wet iceberg stuff for me. oh no......

another worthy mention is Honest to Goodness in the Georges arcade. Ive had the turkey and mustard sambo, and the breakfast sambo. My buddy, a non foody was amazed with their breakfast sambo.

i might try and sample that Dublin food company on Andrews street this saturday. The pulled pork sounds interesting ;)

Oh yeah, deffo Honest to Goodness. They've a sambo called Kick Start, I get it with cheese instead of bacon, and it's bloody gorgeous. The bread is baked in-house, and is so light and tasty.
It comes with this lovely couscous - might sound boring, but it isn't, it's the tastiest side ever.
