Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

iPhone 4 Overheating and battery drain after getting repaired in shop

    Hi y'all

Last Friday I managed to get the tip of a headphone jack stuck in the headphone socket of my iPhone 4. After trying with various short ppoint instruments I went from shop to shop in Dublin on Saturday to see if anynone could get it out without opening up the phone. Alas it appeared to be impossible. So I left it with the guys in Back From The Future on Aungier St beside that Casino. For 75 quid they would open it up, take out the current headphone socket and replace it. When I went back to collect it an hour later, they had left it to charge as the battery was low. It didnt chareg for some reason. Immediately I knew that since they had opened it, something was amiss and now it was no longner charging. They asked me to come back in 20 mintes, so I went and came back later. It charged fine and all was good.

I did notice over the rest of the weekend however, that the battery was draining very quickly. Far quicker than before I left it inot the shop. I didnt make any calls of a significant length until Monday evening. I then noticed the phone getting incredibly hot on my ear, so much so I had to end the call after a few minutes. The same happened today while calling them to inform them of the battery issue, and I mentioned the overheating too. They acted as if this was most unusual and they had never heard of that happening before.

Has anynone experienced this before, or know what might have happened ? Im fairly confident its not coincidence and am going to call inot them onn my lunch tomorrow to see what they can do. Im not very satisfied with their service though, it was working fine, they opened it up, now its not functioning to the same (very high) level it was.

Any thoughts or info greatly appreciated.

    Sol
