Not able to 'thank' posts

Hi there. I have noticed that I do not seem to have an ability to 'thank' posts on boards. I have been able to do this on other forums but for me there does not seem to be an option for this even though I know it's a feature on boards. Is it a glitch in my account or are newbies just not allowed thank posts. Thanks.
