Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Chelsea's first game at home this campaign is against new boys Reading.

Luiz is out for Chelsea, Ramires has recovered from the illness that kept him out of action at the weekend and may well come in for Mata who has been promised a much needed rest after European Championship and Olympics duty for Spain. Chelsea are playing during the week due to playing the European Super Cup against Athlieco Madrid at the end of the month and the decision was made to nring this game forward.
Reading come to Stamford Bridge on the back of a 1-1 draw against Stoke on Saturday, courtesy of a late equalizer form the penalty-spot. Jason Roberts isn`t available due to suspension and also absent, through a leg injury, is Jan Koraca. But Brian McDermott can call upon the services of Jimmy Kebe who has shaken off a hamstring injury.

I'm expecting a Chelsea win and we'll probably see us line out with :

    Cech

    Ivanovic Cahill JT Cole

    Mikel Lamps

    Ramires Hazard Mata

    Torres

    Reading could be :

    Federici

    Gorkss Gunter Pearce Harte

    McAnuff Leigterwood Guthrie R.Kanu

    Pogrebnyak Fondre

I was hoping it would be on one of the main channels, our broadband has been on the blink the last week so trying to stream it will probably drive me mental.

Sky have to show the CL qualifiers.

TBF the Malaga v Panathinaikos will probably be a good game anyway.

Would still like to see us on during the mid week.

If memory serves me correctly, back in the 09/10 Season, Chelsea had a mid-week game against Sunderland at around the same time of the year and it wasn't shown on any of the channels.

Back to tonight, I reckon Chelsea should win this. 2-0 or 3-0, I reckon. Once the defensive frailties that Chelsea seem to have at the moment don't get exposed too much, we should be able to bully the game a bit with our embarrassment of attacking riches.

Hazard will get an assist or two here, he's looked impressive thus far. Long may it continue.

As long as we get the second win under our belts it will stand to us going into a tricky game against Newcastle at the weekend.

If we can finsih this weekend with 9 points I'll be over the moon.

Ya never know, strangers things have happened.

Any idea of the odds on a Reading win? I'd imagine its up and around 12/1.

Yup they're between 10/1 and 12/1 for the win .

Lads Sky sports 2 are showing extended highlights at 22.30, not the same as watching it live but for those who don't live beside a stream it'll have to do ;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,247 ✭✭✭what a day

Il be delighted with a good performance like the first ten mins against Wigan. Once we come away with 3 points tonight that will do i suppose, any thing else is a failure IMO. We should be taking 3 points at home.

Im going to go with a 3-1 Torres to get 2 goals and Hazard to open his Chelsea account :D

Just realised I havent played real football for nearly 20 years and spent too much time on the couch watching my beautiful chelsea from behind a growing beer belly!

Go Gav - you ARE Eden Hazard! (But taller, surely?)

Indeed, I think harte takes all their set pieces, actually wouldent be the worst defender to have in ff.

Should be handy for chelsea regardless, will try to watch it.

Except penos it seems, I was sure he was on all set pieces too and had him on my ff team, but up stepped Le Fondre to take peno on Saturday.

As for this game can see a 4-0 Chelsea win with Hazard scoring

    C'mon Reading :P

In FF terms if Chelsea have to score, Torres I'm looking at you. Expect Chelsea to steamroll though.

Yep, second game of the season. I was there. Finished 3-1 to Chelsea after we went 1-0 up through Bent. The game ended with the whole stadium applauding Deco as he was substituted in injury time, one of the best individual performances I've ever seen.

15 minutes of highlights here if you're interested:

Have Torres have my captain in the FF...a goal would be nice.

Seen Setantabet have a special: Hazard to score and Chelsea to win @ 3/1 which is an excellent price.

Also, Boylesports are taking bets on Assists. Hazard is 5/2 to get an assist anytime which also seems like a good price.

It's available via the PLTV channel from a different satellite position. Something of a hobby I have.
