The Virginia Show was yesterday, but don't think it is a festival. There is the Pumpkin Festival at (Suprise suprise) Hallowe'en

hah no thanks meercat all those guys will be in racing mode i'll be fully loaded so its nice and handy for me:D:D
i'm thinking off going to virginia and then on to oldcastle road do you reckon this would be better ,
looking forward to it i'm on a bit of a mission to discover campsites within a 30 to 50 miles radius of drogheda, i sometimes have guys from the fellclub in the uk come over to me looking to tour, so would be good to have a few campsite in handy range..;)

    yeah
virginia to oldcastle road has less climbs

just hug the lake(on your left)as you travel

turn for knocktemple and campsite is about 500 yards on left

just basic facilities there though(small toilet and shower portacabin)
    but really scenic and quiet
ideal base if you are touring the area
dont forget to visit the loughcrew cairns outside oldcastle if your about
well worth a visit and free guided tour(not big but really interesting)
bring your camera for the views
bit of a climb to the (carpark and rough road)
maybe onto fore abbey then(nice coffee shop for tea and scones)
