Just a quick one - not a homeworker this one: (Although my homework did make me wonder)

If I draw a circle and write LS on it is that all I need to do for a seal? Seems a bit too easy for something to circumvent rules on consideration.

Having executed a couple of hundred English and Irish law deeds over the past 10 years, I have seen actual seals used to imprint, apostille stamps and the notation you have described. It's important to get the signature block correct too; in the case of Irish companies, I think this is still "signed seaed and delivered by ... In the presence of ...".

This week 4 years ago a transaction i was involved in included executing (ie sign) about 40 english law deeds by an Irish company where the wrong signature block was printed. Hilarious to watch an A&L partner desperately scratching in the correct words. Needless to say, that hour was not paid for!
