    Hey,

I would be very grateful for any recommendations for a reasonably priced builder in Dublin/Wicklow. I have full planning permission for a 2500sq ft 2 storey home and all plans are now complete.

I've had 2 quotes today-€130 & €120per sq/ft and I think these are quite steep in this day & age!!

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

thats not that steep. it is cheaper to buy than to build these days. i'd say you could get it down to €110/sq foot though

My sister is in Cork & built a 3000sq ft very recently for €75per sq ft which has a top end finish! I didn't think there would be that big a difference between Cork & Wicklow!

I assume your quote is for a high spec finish?

    Hey,

It's not high end at all! Middle of the road standard to be honest!

If it was high end I would say 110-130 was justified!!

why don't you put the contract out to tender and see what offers you get. I would go for a middle of the range offer then.
beware of the very cheap offers when put out to tender!

What's the best way to go about putting out a tender?!

Thanks for your input, it's very much appreciated!
