Are there any breeders of Cane Corso in Ireland? Tried Google but no luck yet.
    Thanks

Think I seen some on DD before but personally I would buy such a rare breed in ireland from there.

Have came across some before so please be aware what you are getting. This is a serious serious breed and needs experienced owners who can control these dogs at all times. I hear there can be health issues too but that's with most most large breeds. Have you had anything like it before?

Why a corso OP? This is just me being nosey and not to get up on a high horse! I think they are amazing!

A lot of large molosser breeds are now making their way into the country and the present owners of these breeds do not want them falling into the wrong hands and that's not directed at you!

    Good luck!

    Quick search on google.

I'd also contact the kennel club for names of breeders. As the poster above has stated they are a powerful breed and will require an enormous amount of socialising and training. I think they are also on the restricted list so will be required to be on a leash and muzzled when walked in public. It might be easier to find a Neopolitan Mastiff.

BTW that clipping of the ears is a disgusting practice and I believe illegal here.

Yes it's illegal just as tail docking. I believe a vet could be shut down. It's only done for medical reasons and it's a law in most of Europe now too so showing dogs with cropped ears is not always allowed.

Not sure about swapping the corso for a neo either!! As beautiful as they are the health issues are massive and for a well bred one in Ireland it also comes with a massive price too! Great dogs though and if I ever needed a large estate protected it would definitely be top of the list!

Personally if I were to go for the larger mastiff type it would be the Bullmastiff especially for guarding large grounds.

I was on holiday in turkey during the summer and started talking dogs with a local beside the hotel he had some kangals and then I seen his yard and in the yard was a Caucasian Shepard, I think it was the only time in my life I was intimidated by a dog. It must of been 150lbs + of something that could only be described as bear with a bark that would give a heart attack! Way to much dog for 99% of people IMO. His Kangals were pretty amazing too!

There is a guy livIng near Arklow with a Caucasian Shep along with a Russian Terrier (more like a giant schnauzer).

I wouldn't like to arrive at his house unannounced! It's good to see these breeds coming to Ireland i just hope they don't fall into the wrong hands.

I didn't think tail docking was illegal in Ireland yet?

I know the Kennel Club was trying to stop it on new dogs being shown.

I'm open to correction but I'm 95% certain it is. If I remember correctly I was having a conversation with some hunting folk not to long ago and they were saying they couldn't get their dogs done.

It's frowned upon and any vet caught doing it faces repercussions but it's not illegal, cropping is though.
