    You tempted CW?

Probably not - although the temperature would be nice and I would like to see that part of the world. The horror stories of the price of a pint etc in these nordic countries would put me off especially with the cost of the IM on top of it.

Would like to do Norseman perhaps someday though up there!

I think getting there is a big issue. Talking to nirvana its about a 5 hr drive from the int airport - and thats based on fact u know where ur going.

Costs not as bad as u think. There with work and its priced like Dublin.

    Seems fast enough

Basically all good so far ( not sure about price of pint etc;)
IMO IM Sweden could be the new Roth.

Colin Pollock who finished 3rd in Humbert did a 9:10 there!

    Positives
    1. The weather was perfect. No wind, 17-19 degrees and cloudy. Water 19c
    2. The course was pancake flat with just a few technical sections on both bike and run.
    3. Fantastic support and the streets were lined with tall blondes! :)
    4. Organisation top notch

    Negatives
    1. Drafting
    2. Bike short by 2k

Very tempting. Need to cost it up

Am liking the look of this one too. Wonder if flying to kopenhagen would be an option

    Road surface?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,830 ✭✭✭catweazle

Saw it on Eurosport earlier - did more athlete interviews than showing the course. Water was calm and roads look fine the bit I saw - it certainly was well supported on the run

Setanta sports have shown highlights of this race over the past few days. Coverage is good - should give a decent indication of the challenges this course would present. I'd expect them to repeat it a bit, as they tend to do.

Was looking at this for next year. Accommodation seems to be the biggest draw back. Don't really want to go the Nirvana route. Anyone any insights into this ?

There are a few from Galway Tri & Tri Lakes over there. None went through Nirvana. I can get some more info for you next week if you like.

Thanks for that. Race opens for entry and will probable sell out quite quickly . Think it sold out in 3 day last year. Considering Copenhagen as an option. Logistical at lot better and probably not a lot different in terms of cost and course. Appreciate all info. Thanks
