Just dropping a note about our city's roller derby team. We are currently a training team based in Waterford city and we'll be recruiting new skaters, aka "freshmeat" in the coming months. We'll be holding an information nights in September, with intake in October.

Roller derby can be googled to death, and you need to know it is a contact sport which will require commitment.

If you would like to be on our mailing list for information regarding the upcoming freshmeat intake schedule, please email your contact info to waterfordcityviqueens@gmail.com. You can find us on facebook at www.facebook.com/waterfordcityviqueens

Nope-- we encourage everyone to come out. The only limitations are that you are female (if not, we do need training refs and NSOs--non-skating-officials!) and over 18! We have all ages, shapes and levels of fitness starting out. It's a great way to improve fitness.

Tonight is the night! We are recruiting tonight in Cill Barra Sports Centre, Ballybeg from 7pm-8pm. We are looking for any girls interested in taking up derby and also any guys (or girls!) who would like to get involved as referees (quad or inline is fine) or as non-skating officials. Come on out tonight! No experience or gear necessary.
