Your internet sucks. Does yours not round the figures?

I now want to change my vote as my confidence in the system is shaken. Lance is the man. Never tested positive! Where are the positive test results?

Team Sky asks riders and staff to sign anti-doping declaration

Strange that a clean team would need to bother doing this.

Flicking through tv and happened upon the Sky News paper review as they started to discuss this. The archive clip they were using was him being mugged in the Phoenix Park.

I'm going to go find that thread now and name and shame you guys that were there trying to grab onto his coat tales that day.

Can he really sign the declaration with a straight face? And if he does, it makes a mockery of Sky.

And does this not undermine a lot of what they "stood" for over the last few years? The presence of Leinders and Yates, plus riders implicated, imply that the "zero tolerance" attitude was just spin, and this declaration seems like just an extension of that.

I love how the article says they didn't rehire Leinders after it was reported that he had been involved in doping during his work with Rabobank several years ago.

There's no way they wouldn't have known he was involved/linked to doping at his time at Rabo before hiring him in the first place

And that Leinders goes, but Yates stays... The public backlash to the hiring of Leinders seems to have given them some fierce double standards!

And other (high profile) staff too, alleged by Daryl Webster to have been involved in the past (on Cycling weekly forum).
The whole Leinders affair was bizarre. Even the most cursory check would have added major suspicions. Also there are a huge number of really good British sports medicine docs who'd have loved that position but it was never even advertised...
Far from clearing up their position it's made it even muddier..

Sky's position on doping through the years.

2010. Absolutely noone on our team will have a doping past.
2011. It's hard to get people that don't have a bit of a doping past.
2012. Absolutely noone on our team will have a doping past.
    2013. ?????

Bottle's Damascene conversion to anti-doping zealot...
To that end, Leipheimer said he is dedicating his time to spreading the word. It's as if one door has closed and another has opened for him.

“It's obvious you can't ignore what came out Wednesday,” he said. “You just can't bury your head in the sand.”

Michelob went out earlier with Budweiser as it's an Anheuser Busch product or however the hell you spell it.

I'd imagine there's now a few relieved people in Trek

    Who's left, Oakley?

It's a bit early for that judgement. Leinders was an easy target because his contract was up for renewal.

The new pledge would seem to make Yates' ongoing employment impossible, but it's only just been announced.

All sponsors will now desert him. They say any publicity is good publicity so each sponsor wil try make headline news with them dropping Lance (and getting in the bit about supporting cancer). So i'd give it maybe 48 hours from when the Nike news dies down for Oakley to come out with their statement.
