Pat McQuaid and the UCI should hang their heads in shame. If they had any left.

How many faces has Pat McQuiad got ???

One thing for sure .....while he was preaching poverty yesterday as an excuse as to why the UCI couldn't investigate the Armstronng case further in the past and why the UCI cannot do more he certainly has enough money to be constantly sueing people ..... PLus he could have used police and law enforcement from individual countries to help investiage doping if he had reasonable doubt it was happening in that countries race ...like the French Gendarmes

He reminds me of when I worked for the DH and visited NHS clinics and staff complained constantly if required to improve or be efficient as if the NHS was there for their benefit and not that of the patients/tax payers

Lord Mayor of Adelaide says Lance Armstrong can keep keys to the city: "To be honest, they don't open anything anyway."

    JOEY BARTON!!!
    http://www.joeybarton.com/armstrong-the-fall-of-an-iconic-sporting-superstar/

While I don't agree with his conclusion, it's well written and he shines the light on his own sport.

Anyway, I hope all this nonsense isn't distracting him from his most important mission... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/3894590/.html

good read and LOVED this line:

"Please don't mention the cancer charity again. What a travesty. You know what? Next time a celebrity comes out against cancer, I want somebody to do a story about celebrities who are in favor of cancer. It's like taking a stand against death. So ****ing what?"

i actually genuinely believe Joey has a brain and can use it but then is there much point being so eloquent when he goes and does something insane AGAIN (only last week he's involved in roughly an attack on a fellow player during a training match). Great footballer, decent writer, still a fruitcake. Anybody who stubs a lit cigar out in someones eye, drunk or sober, is a fruitcake even if they write as good as shakespeare.

i am actually stunned and fuming. I can't believe the sneaky, duplicitous, manipulative nature of the UCI statement on their website. It's an absolute joke and McQuaid has to go. Simple as that. Tygart is a legend. There's only one thing left for it for me right now and that's getting out every penny i have spare and it's going straight to Kimmage to help load that plane full of witnesses.

Those jokers at the UCI obviously feel they are untouchable. Can't wait for this to come crumbling down on them.

Even this quote on the UCI site STINKS:

"The UCI tested Tyler Hamilton 40 times and found him positive. It tested Floyd Landis 46 times and found him positive as the winner of the Tour de France. The list of riders that it has found positive does not end there.

The UCI has tested Lance Armstrong 218 times. If Lance Armstrong was able to beat the system then the responsibility for addressing that rests not only with the UCI but also with WADA and all of the other anti-doping agencies who accepted the results."

First of all that's 86 tests combined for Tyler and Floyd when both have admitted doping the whole time and they caught them once each out of 86 tests. Yeah the testing clearly worked. Then they are still implying doubt with Lance and shove in a little proviso - "well yeah he may have did it but it wasn't our fault".

wonderful life, you say "yeah the testing clearly worked," and I have to presume thats sarcasm or whimsy whatever its called.. however it clearly didnt work as well as the avoidance systems that teams and riders had in place.

And I notice now that this scandal is being called the worse doping case in the history of sport. Who knows whether it is or not? and whats going on in other sports at this very time. Doping by its very nature is mainly underground and sadly the facts suggests that there is a lot of people in many areas of life willing to facilitate doping. Remember Balco

I notice on the nutrition forum on boards.ie that the amount of interest in the supplement thread is huge compared to other threads, so is that telling us something about the human race in general and that there are always people looking for the piece of magic or shortcuts.

I see Miguel Indurain is coming out to bat for Armstrong.

Such a pity- he should have done what he normally does, and keep his mouth shut. Disappointing from a rider who never had a whiff of doping scandal, apart from a salbutamol positive and dominating the sport for years when EPO use was rampant and undetectable.

Very disappointing from Indurain. Most of the multiple "winners" of the Tour are now disgraced, what does that say to other sports fans watching or even sponsors.

And I thought the fanboys were bad a few weeks ago but these Armstrong fans are like Branch Davidians in their loyalty, then again Waco is not that far from Austin.
