Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Damn I'll just wait till the Miriam show tomorrow.

Interesting reading this thread. Never heard of him until the apprentice started, some real bad opinions here about him. I used to work with a bloke that met him numerous times and said he was a complete a.hole and the majority of people who also worked with my ex colleague said the same.

Found its quite funny how the Canadian/Irish guy didn't see eye to eye with a few posters and he goes closes his account!! Haha gobshîte.

Big whoopdeefrickindoo,he pays his taxes! So do the vast majority of the rest of us but we aren't preaching to skilled workers who are trying to make a life for themselves to go and work for free -that guy seriously needs to get down off himself!

EDIT: And it's less to do with begrudging success and more about not accepting his self-righteous muppetry

Well whoopdeefrickindoo, most people know he has an ego, I really hate the way though Irish seem to think it's ok to slate success, you do realise that bill will be ok, and his employees will end up unemployed.

So here you can go, he has an ego, but he managed to give people jobs and a wage.

You seem to have an ego, and you appear to be more self righteousones than any else I know, Irish people like you make me sick, I would prefer to see 1,000 bill cullens than you. unfornate I'm seeing 1,000 of you, instead of bill cullens. go on chatch your unicorn.

Must write to him. Offer him an intern-ship maybe. He could polish my helmet, yank my chain, ring my bell or hold my nuts. Just for a few months like, then he might decide to become a professional bicycle mechanic.

I'm prity sure he will be able to hang out with you. And you wonder why Ireland is in the crap hole, they really do hate anyone who is successful, I suggest Irish people should grow up and get real, best advice I could ever give

not at all, but it makes me mad, when Irish people put down other Irish people, just because they where successful, Bill will be fine, also he had an ego, no body seems to be concerned with his employees, you just seem to concerned with bad mouthing the guy, because he was cocky, well he made millions, I'm guessing you didn't. I just stated most Irish people need to grow up, and stop slagging everyone success story off, it's getting very tired at this stage, and it makes us look like jealous beer hugging unicorns.

    We are better than that

Its a trait of the Irish alright. Personally all joking aside I do admire the man. He's a true rags to riches story and achieved it all on his own initiative and hard graft. Minimal education, not a degree in sight. Fair play to the guy, not everyone can be like that.

I agree and good luck to him, hard work goes a long way but it doesn't give him a right to preach from his self-placed pedestal about other people's life choices!

Completely agree, I don't have any sort of education, crap leaving cert, but he is a guy who inspired me, since the recession I have managed to create 5 jobs, basically because of Bill saying work for free (valuable experience only) but we worked at it and managed to prove ourselfs. So as cocky as he is, I thank him :)

What pisses me off is how the likes of Cullen comes across as being such a nice guy on tv and are complete a$$holes in real life. Yer man Keane the solicitor is another one like that. It costs nothing to be nice.

why should any of us be concerned with what either does, you are and should be 1,000 times better than them, because you asked a question, right now we are better off, without Bill, although he had a part in changing things, very much in Ireland, it going be interesting to see who becomes the for runner in creating jobs.

Did he rape your dog or something? That's pretty harsh if its just about his gloating attitude... there must be something we don't know about.

Its his gloating ,along with other things people have mentioned .I have heard several interviews he gave and its like he is reading from the same script word for word .
He is also always on about how hard he works ,yet i have yet to see him break into a sweat .
I dont hate him ,its more a dislike . If he fell in the Liffy i would not try to pull him out .:D

i don't believe we do hate successful people. This begrudgery thing is a falsehood.
We hate people who are media whores and moralisers.

    For example:
    Take U2.

A lot of people dislike Bono (rightly so) cos he is cock
very few people say anything bad about the other members of the band.
Because they don't frolic in the media lecturing people about x,y and z.
    They are all equally successful.

Bill Cullen is a dick because he believes he is better than the rabble by virtue of the fact that he is rich and successful in business.
As this is the only yearstick for success.
He was moralising us for the years during the boom yet he was losing money hand over fist on his hotels.
So add hypocrisy to the charge list.

begrudgery comes a lot lower on the list.

    Haters gonna hate.

Billy the space warriooour fore saw the loss of the renault deal years ago thats why he is moving to space to sell cars.

He is setting up a renault dealership on the moon where he will once again have exclusive rights to hawk scrap. Renaults work better in zero gravity as the effect of the earths gravitational pull doesnt mess up the electrics.

Is there a reason you keep dragging up or commenting on my posts? You are getting a bit, you know, stalkerish...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,766 ✭✭✭juan.kerr

I started reading the thread, the first post was an odd random completely off topic comment, I felt it was appropriate to point out that it was odd. Relax there, you're not being stalked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,299 ✭✭✭✭MadsL

How is it off topic to post about a) Bill Cullen b) his business practices and c) his hypocrisy in banging on about integrity on the Apprentice when he breaks the law on a daily basis by not having planning for his tatty advertising?

A and B are what the thread is about ffs.

Odd? I think you are odd to be honest. You dragged up one of my old threads the other day for no reason and posted similar crap on it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,766 ✭✭✭juan.kerr

I commented because I started reading the thread from the start, and having read the second post I knew who posted it before I checked the poster name.

I remembered your odd thread from a few months ago about O2 and their banners on Grafton Street and laughed to myself that there are some odd people on boards.ie with odd obsessions (this being one in case you haven't realised).

The post I quoted above and the one from earlier in the week about restricting the use of the term 'National' confirmed my opinion of the poster.

    Hope this explains things.

Whoopdiefrickkendoo, I'm delighted you have me nicely categorised in your "odd" box. I was terribly worried that you hadn't formed a opinion of me. You have totally set my mind at rest.

What's wrong with complaining about the hundreds of illegal banners strung up around the city? They look sh1te and the city council are doing nothing about them.
