I like a bit of soft rain after a sun shower. But the general Irish rain lashes you side on, on your face, with a gale force wind and a few hailstones for good measure.

True, but the summers since 2007 have been truly godawful, even by Irish standards.

Yes it was. 3 very heavy down pours where I live yesterday and some heavy winds for a time.

Oh yeah, and this. Other people's horrific progeny killing each other outside your house at night for hours when you are trying to wind down. Rain = bliss.
