Price of a movie

Decided to see a Movie today with the wife (Bourne Legacy very good BTW) Anyway for 2 People at Lunchtime it came to 37 Dollars tickets alone. 37 Dollars that is a stupid amount to pay for a movie. Its not a uncommon price. So what is it that makes movies here so expensive??

I imagine its just a short term measure until they recode the page so hide the codes better.
Then they'll slowly leak out.
