Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Animals are cool.

Always thought people who say they hate cats are a bit slow.:)

Love animals! Much more than I like humans.

    My dog is the best.

Can't stand animal cruelty. Been a strict vegetarian for most of my life.

I once had sex with a girl from Tallaght and after it she told me "Your an animal lover"

    May not be true

Yeah I like animals, hate people who are cruel to them though.

You read about some terrible cases of cruelty to animals in the papers, these tossers know there will be SFA done to them for it.

I find that dogs are universally loved because of their blind loyalty to the owner. Humans need to feel loved and important and the canine certainly props up that need.

The cat sees you for what you are and doesn't initially fall in love. It takes time and effort to win their trust. Their independent streak means that they'll never truly rely on the person like the dog does. Some people misconstrue that for coldness or arrogance.

I keep both animals and find them each to be rewarding pets in their own way.

A cat is a pet. A dog is a companion. Anyone who thinks a dog gives you his loyalty by default needs to work in dog rescue a few moments. Cat's haven't evolved to communicate and interact with humans the way dogs have. Cats were perfectly fine running under foot and catching mice, and that's where their evolution with humans stayed. With canines, it was a mutual cooperative function. Dogs communicate and interact with humans on a level no other animal shares with us. One can not classify this relationship as making an owner simply feel important.

There is generally a very poor attitude to animal cruelty here. In these cases, I would be all for 'an eye for an eye' style of justice.

I think you can tell a lot about people by their attitude to animals.
