    Hi all.

    Im in the very, very, very early stages of hopefully setting up my own business.
    I thought it would be a good idea to write down a step by step process of how I should go about this. Below is a list I came up with.
    It would be great if people could offer advice or suggestions.

    Name- Come up with a name for your new business.

    Registration- Register your new company.

    Domain- Register your web domain.

    Branding- Logo design etc.

    Business Plan- Have one.

    Web Design- Get your website up and running.

    Banking- Set up a company bank account.

    Funding- Beg, borrow or steal.

    Purchases- Get any and all equipment you need.

    Literature- Get flyers etc printed up.

    Marking- Distribute flyers, press releases, radio ads etc

    Product launch- And away you go.

    By the way for the business im setting up, i will have no staff (at least in short term) and no office or shop space (working from home).

    Can you elaborate a bit on what you are going to be doing?

    It is basically impossible to provide a step by step guide, things are never that clear. There are some things you should focus on and other things that may seem important but aren't really.

    Well its in the tourism industry.
    Essentially giving people tours of places of interest but in quiet a different way to standard tours.

    Hi Who what when,

    You've missed a few important steps, but have most of the essentials in place.

    1 Decide if you are setting up as a sole trader or limited company
    2 Register for tax as you will be liable for it
    3 Set up a basic accounting system to record income and expenses
