Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What's up with Silva lately? Is he injured?
Possibly fatigue? He was in poor form for most of the 2nd half of last season when suffering from fatigue, and didn't really have a proper break in the summer.

city are strong favourites for this game after our opening defeat, delighted with the brevery shown by the manager, downing on bench for the exciting sterling... no sitting back me thinks, go for the jugular ..could end badly but at least we seem to be going for it.

Great youth in the team - Borini 21, Allen 22, Kelly 22, Coates 22, Sterling 17

Adam not even on the bench, a gentle nudge towards the door?

And as Phil McNulty said, great to see Rodgers willing to make a call like Coates for Carra and Sterling for Downing, very brave considering it's his first home league game against the champions! Money where his mouth is...

Tough one to call. Liverpool always play unbelievable against the big boys, also city have looked a little shakey in defense so i predict an entertaining 1 - 1

Redknapp name-drops in the second sentence, who had that on the sweepstakes?

Nervous as hell about this one. Expecting a City win, after last weeks disaster the best we can hope for is a point,I'll take an improved performance over last weekends debacle.

Neville's hair looks like some sort of helmet.

and Sterling is actually the right choice.

Downing offers nothing right now on the wing, even with all his experience. Sterling does, going on what's happened over the last couple of months.

if we're picking players on form, he deserves a shot, even if it's against Manchester City.

Rodgers is a brave man for throwing in him and Coates today; very brave. and at the very least, he should be commended for that IMO. i just hope the decisions don't fall flat. nobody can complain, realistically, with Carragher being on the bench.

Having seen the teams I'll take a point, too many changes for the worse.

Because it was such an ordeal for him playing golf for a few months. Poor guy.

It's easy enough to sit in an ivory tower, the lad was obviously going through some **** last year.

    Only right.

A top footballer should never be happy playing golf and not playing football no matter how much money he' earning.

I'd give Carrol a chance ahead of Borini, think he's going to be a flop

Brave line up from the Rodgers, but it's the one I would have went myself considering the players available.

    Think it'll be a scored draw, 1-1.

So replace an unproven player with a flop.....good thinking!

Hope its not a step too far for Raheem at this point, if im not mistaken Flanagan had his debut v Man City. Good luck wee man.

Me too, also delighted to see that Downing is not picked, he's been a disgrace since his arrival at Anfield.

I have absolutely no idea how this is going to end up, could be absolutely anything

Milner is a sensible choice given this Sterling bloke is playing. Mad Zab getting stuck in to him would be nice.

Carrol would be better than Borini who seems to give the ball away with every second touch

Silva being out makes me even more optimistic for a Liverpool victory.

Doubters will be proved wrong today imho.

Interesting, Skrtel is playing as the left side of the two CBs, must be to suit Coates and how City line up...or that Agger always gets his favoured side!
