New Build Help

Hey Folks

Looking for some advice on a new build:

1. What is your budget? [€800 - €900]

2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? [HTPC/Internet/Ripping BluRay, DVD, etc/Modest gaming (nothing specific)/App Dev (programming/design)]

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? [No]

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? [No.]

5. Do you need a monitor? [Yes]

5a. If yes, what size do you need. [minimum 24']

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? [N/A]

6. Do you need any of these peripherals? [Speakers]

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? [Not at this time]

8. How can you pay? [Bank Transfer/Credit Card/Laser]

9. When are you purchasing? [In next couple of weeks]

10. If you need help building it, where are you based? [Going to try building it myself but will likely have some questions as I go along ]

Appreciate any advice on a set of components to meet the above conditions.

It's been a while since my earlier post. I've read through a number of other threads here with various builds and recommendations and have put together the following build.
Could I get some thoughts on how this looks before I purchase?

I presume you have left out a graphics card intentionally and are happy the onboard, so without a GPU could drop the PSU to the 450W amazon and still have enough juice to to add a decent card later if needs be. You might also throw in a cooler for uber-quietness or if you decide to overclock at a later date.

Aside from that you've chosen very well IMO, nice build .

Yes, I left out the Graphics card intentionally. I will add one at some point though which is why I went with 550W PSU.
But if the 450W would still allow for a graphics card down the line I would happily go with that.

As for the cooler, I think I will hold off until I get the graphics card and/or decide to overclock.
BTW...Do you have any recommendations for a cooler?

Ah you could probably leave it in their for the sake of €10, although components are so efficent nowadays that even the 450W would be grand for nearly any single GPU nowadays, I guess the 550W give you a bit of extra headroom for overclocking should you ever wish to try it and a very hefty GPU .

Cooler is good choice too, the Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 would be another decent option.
