Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Great pass Meireles.

Chelsea seem very fluid, really liking Bertrand in the middle the way he can interchange with Hazard or Cole and provide ye with that extra option.

Very nice to watch so far and with the likes of Mata, Hazard and Torres in the attacking positions ye can create something out of nothing.

I t was mentioned again recently but Mikel was actually an attacking player before Jose got his hands on him. The eagles boss is always moaning about how we ruined him. He actually did score goals! (2 international ones anyway)

    Dive from Torres no?

    Rash challenge admittedly.

3 games in and I'm already pissed off with Hazard, purely because of the commentators and them trying to sound clever. "Idin Azaar" . Just say Eden Hazard in your normal bloody accent.

I thought that at first, from behind it looked like a dive.

But they just showed the side angle and it wasn't. Anita caught his knee and ankle, stone wall peno.

    Your joking right

He kicks his knee and then catches his foot, clear as day penalty.

yeah just saw it now from the same angle as you...i withdraw my previous statement :P

When you make a challenge like that in the box, you're gonna give away a penalty nine times out of ten

Hazard has continued his good run. Hope we can continue and push on and score another 1 or 2.

Well as someone who lives in a non-English-speaking country, I appreciate when people try and pronounce my name as I do (Neil), rather than how it would be pronounced in their normal accent (Nay-eel)

Hazard put the penalty away well. Shows he's a confident player IMO

I've never understood why he doesn't take them. If he did his scoring stats would have been amazing

Such a shame to see Essien warming the bench these days. What a player he was before the injuries.

He just never takes penos. Even when he was scoring for fun for Liverpool

    Torres playing well today.

Giving Terry and Abramovic food for thought for when they sit down to discuss transfer needs before the window shuts.

That's why I quoted you ;). No confidence, last we spell from him just now sums him up the torres of old would have put his laces to that and scored, instead today's Torres held the ball up then eventually gave it away.

I remember even in the champions league shootout he was arguing away saying he didn't want to take one, thankfully he didn't :o

Chelsea passing the ball about with some pace

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

I always understood it to be that Torres was a fairly poor peno taker so stayed clear of them. You won't even catch him taking one in a shootout I would think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,829 ✭✭✭✭Panthro

    Now that's a bit shyt

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,627 ✭✭✭Sgt Pepper 64

Hazard is just a class above but he deserves a better centre forward than Torres

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,066 ✭✭✭Washington Irving

Hard to tell if there was contact, but at least the ref is consistent. If it wasn't a foul it was a dive
