Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Setanta Sports 1 15:00pm

Manchester United possible lineup: De Gea, Valencia, Vidic, Carrick, Evra, Cleverley, Scholes, Kagawa, Rooney, Nani, Van Persie.

Fulham possible lineup: Schwarzer, Riether, Hangeland, Hughes, Riise, Diarra, Dembele, Kacaniklic, Duff, Ruiz, Petric.

    Referee:Kevin Friend

Fulham have lost their last eight Premier League trips to Old Trafford and failed to score in the last five in a row.

Manchester United have scored at least two goals in 11 of their last 12 home matches in the Premier League.

United have kept seven clean sheets in their last nine Premier League games at Old Trafford.

Back four could be completely wrong with maybe Rafael coming in and talk of Evra at centre back which could make it a tricky afternoon with Fulham coming off the back of a 5-0 win.
I still think United will be too strong and run out winners in a high scoring game.

Hopefully get off to a good start at home.

54 points from OT this season would be a nice contribution toward a title winning total! :)

    RVP to bag a brace.

I'm interested to see just how good this Fulham midfield is. I felt they must be strong before the season began because Blackburn signed both Murphy and Etuhu. When a team gets rid of two regular starters from a reasonably successful campaign last season you have to imagine that Jol felt very confident about their replacements.

    1-1

Between injuries and the midfield, Rooney and Nani's form I'd be shocked with a good win.

I very much doubt we'll see Cleverley and Scholes in midfield again.

I'm expecting a response after last weeks performance. anything less than 3 points for Utd will be a disaster!

I think we could see a line up like this....

    Cleverley..... Anderson

    Valencia.....Kagawa.....Rooney

    RVP

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Etuhu was a fringe player last year, no?

I hope that is true. Chico and rvp up front please, very unlikely though.

    Dembele
Not a massive surprise if he is tbh.
Wouldn't mind see Chico get a runout today just to see how he would link up with Kagawa.
If he managed to stay onside I could see plenty of 1 on 1 opportunities for him.

Well I am pleasantly surprised that Rooney is dropped.

Without the signings of Kagawa and van Persie, he would have been nailed on to start every game when fit.
I know there's an argument that Rooney will get sharpness and fitness back by playing, but it can't be a bad thing to have top class options too...

Bring him on with half hour left to score 2... :)

De Gea; Rafael, Carrick, Vidic, Evra; Valencia, Cleverley, Anderson, Kagawa, Young; van Persie

Very attacking lineup. Even without Rooney

    Subs:-

Subs; Lindegaard, Evans, Rooney, Giggs, Henandez, Welbeck, Scholes

    No Nani in squad.

Good to see Evans back in the squad.

Van Persies name still looks weird in a United lineup.

Happy enough to see Rooney dropped. Not in shape IMO.

I like that midfield trio of ando, clev with kagawa in front of them.. hope they can link up well. Rather see Nani start ahead of young though good options on the bench to sat the least!!

No he was starting last year for them but struggled with injury. Then towards the end of the season they signed Diarra and he was on the bench from March onwards. I'm not sure he was fully over his injury though but Diarra did play well so it may not have mattered.

Rooney didn't look up for it Monday we all know and him RVP will take time to work. I fully expected him to be dropped today. A little suprised to Anderson starting but delighted to see Rafael play at RB, fully deserves it and makes more sense then Valencia.

Also just noticed that Evans makes the bench so that's a huge plus. Still Carrick at CB is still a huge worry, both for the defence and midfield.

Kagawa to shine again today i think.

Not really a huge plus when carrick is still at cb, might as well have wootton on the bench instead of Evans to give him the match day experience.

    We'll probably win anyway
but I may be the only one on here thats not happy to see Rooney on the bench ,,,wanted Rooney and Van P up front to start the partnership going.....

also never like playing one up front at home ....

I think it's more the fact that if he's fit enough to make the bench this week, he should be back in the starting line-up soon.

Only question is where is Nani? No doubt Fergie will say he picked up a knock.

Don't worry. Kagawa will run the show in the final third and get in the box plenty too.

It could be argued they are playing three up though. With three in midfield.

All things being equal though he should be on the bench. No need to have three strikers on the bench.
