MMA is a funny game ,you dont have to punch ,kick , knee or submit or even damage anybody to win your fight ,you just have to take somebody down and hold them there and the win is your's.

Its all an element of fighting though. If someone genuinely is the better fighter, they should be able stop that from happening to them.

It's often that nothing scoring wise happens the other way so this may win a round, Not pretty but cage control is a part of the scoring, if that all that happens it's all you can score on.

I thought the refs were excellent Sunday Night and were very quick to stand up fighters if there was little happening on the ground. Of course if a buddy/team mate of your lost and your looking for an excuse, rateher then being a good loser then youll always find one that isint he just wasnt good enough on the night.

  • Registered Users Posts: 61 ✭✭steviemac

I understand scoring with the take downs but when the other guy lands punches ,knees ,kicks and tries for submissions thats what i dont understand :) don't get me wrong i love the ground game but just lying on top doing nothing shouldn't be scored.

  • Registered Users Posts: 61 ✭✭steviemac

And no i wasn't fighting or had a teammate fighting im not looking for a excuse for anything just asking the question

Youll have to tell us what fights your talking about because I saw all the fights that night bar 1 and none of them went the way you are describing

Its called a gameplan and its up to the other fighter and his corner to counteract it. Amature shows are perfect for getting not only your own game right but how you control the range of the fight. I didnt think there was one bad decison on sunday

Its ok im not going to start naming fighter that have nothing to do with me, a win is a win and fare play to all the lads who are prepared to get in the cage and fight there hearts out.
.Its was a great show by Man of War with great fights

If your coming out with comments like that back it up, what fights are you talking about or are you just referring to your team mates fight?

I was only asking a question not about any fight particular nothing to do with team mate or anything like that, dont know were you got that idea. I love the game and not moaning about refs or judges ...

You were asking a question which was referring to a fight or fights you saw at Man of War. Id just like to know what fights you are referring to. Maybe the refs didnt stand up fast enough and im wrong.

Great to have an opinion, not a bother, but opinions need to be backed up rather then aimlessly throwing them out there.I didnt see one bad fight Sunday night, the standard was seriously impressive, great stand up, wrestling and jitz.
